A night stroll through Kamakura and a Songbe Cafe experience surrounded by the sounds and lights of trains🚃🌙

A night stroll through Kamakura and a visit to Son Bé Café, surrounded by the sounds and lights of trains 🚃🌙

In Kamakura at night, after the crowds thinned out, I dropped into Son Bé Café.
Just a short walk from Kamakura, the JR trains passing right in front of me felt like a scene from a movie.

📍Basic Information & Access
• Name: Son Bé Café
• Address: In front of the Kamakura Station crossing, Kanagawa Prefecture
• Access: Approximately a 5-minute walk from JR Kamakura Station
• Business Hours: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM (Last Order 8:30 PM)
• Closed: Wednesdays (subject to change depending on exhibitions and events)
• Instagram

This cafe's charm lies in its exotic Vietnamese-inspired interior and handmade art space. The warm interior, made with reclaimed wood, features unique exhibits by local artists that change seasonally, ensuring a new look every time you visit.

🌃 [Highlights of the Experience]
• A romantic evening ambiance with the sounds of JR trains playing in the background
• A wide selection of Vietnamese-inspired plates and sweets
• Art exhibits by local artists (ceramics, photography, drawings, etc.)
• A glimpse of the trains and city lights from the window seats
• The illuminated sign and interior of the restaurant are photogenic 📸

On the day we visited, a ceramic artist's exhibition was being held on a quiet evening, and spending time surrounded by works that exuded a nostalgic warmth was exceptional.

A little away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist destination of Kamakura, we enjoyed a relaxing "night on the road" in this tranquil, locally rooted space.

💡 Recommended Time to Visit!
• 🌆 Around 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM: This is the time when the evening ambiance is beautiful, with the lights and reflections of the Enoshima Electric Railway creating a magical atmosphere.
• 🖼️ While the exhibition is small-scale, the artworks blend seamlessly into the space, giving the experience of "art blending into everyday life" rather than an "art gallery."
