The garden was first built in 1676 during the reign of Maeda Tsunanori, the fifth head of the Kaga Maeda clan. Since then, successive heads have shaped it into its current form. 😌

I've been to Kenrokuen Garden since I was a child! 🥰💗Famous as one of Japan's three most beautiful gardens, Kenrokuen has also been designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the national government. 🙌
It's a vast garden, so you can enjoy a leisurely stroll around and explore. ✨
It's best to allow plenty of time. 🤗When we went, there were a lot of camera-crazy people (telephoto lenses?) out there, and we wondered what was going on. It turns out they were looking at a barn owl. 🦉The third photo shows that barn owl! A kind person let me take a peek at their camera! 🥰
