[Hokuriku] Tour inside Shima, a national important cultural property πŸ‘€βœ¨

Higashi Chaya District in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

It is one of the three Chaya Districts in Kanazawa City.

The streetscape of the Geisha district remains here, and the entire Chaya District is a traditional buildings preservation district.

Among them, "Kaikaro" and "Shima" are designated as important cultural properties of Japan.

"Shima", built as a teahouse in 1820, has remained unchanged since the Edo period.

It's a chance to see inside a teahouse that "does not accept first-time customers"!

With that in mind, I went in right after it opened.

There was a garden and musical instruments used in performing dances and entertainment were on display with explanations.
Inside the building, there were various rooms in the building, such as the accounting office where the bill was calculated and the tea room. πŸ‘€
There is also a sweet shop "Sanson-an" where you can enjoy matcha tea and sweets.

Even though there were no customers or geisha, I could imagine them there performing the tatami room (*^^*)

To avoid damaging the building, only cell phones are allowed inside. Baggage is to be left in the coin lockers on the first floor.

You might want to leave large luggage in the coin lockers at the station or at your hotel πŸ‘€
