Kanazawa is the kind of city that makes the perfect weekend getaway—rich in culture, full of flavor, and just the right size to explore at a relaxed pace. From classic Japanese gardens to buzzing seafood markets, every stop feels like a treat.

No visit to Kanazawa is complete without Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s most famous gardens. Even in just a short stroll, the landscape shifts from peaceful ponds to winding stone paths. It’s a place where time slows down.

For lunch, I headed to Omicho Market and had a fresh crab rice bowl that was every bit as good as it sounds—sweet, briny, and packed with flavor. The energy of the market adds so much to the experience.
