An exhibition of the legendary wealthy merchant "Zeniya Gobei" in the late Edo period. Photography is not allowed in the museum, but you can see a three-dimensional model of the merchant ship used at the time and an animation of Gohei's life.

The exhibition tells the ups and downs of Gobei Maeya's life, from a pawnshop owner in his late 40s to a shipping company owner, making a fortune through trade such as smuggling with foreign countries, supporting the feudal lord, becoming a national figure, and then falling due to a shipwreck, being involved in the feudal political situation, and finally dying in prison.

The exhibition combines documents, models and videos, and the explanations are simple and easy to understand. With beautiful buildings and gardens, it is definitely worth a visit. Admission is ¥500, including the adjacent Zeniya Kaikan.
