Kanazawa Castle Stone Gate seen from the entrance to Kenrokuen Garden

The Maeda family lived in Kanazawa Castle and owned Kenrokuen Garden as their garden.

Several fires destroyed most of the building,
and restoration work has progressed since the Heisei era began, opening it to the public.

A magnificent bridge has been built behind Oyama Shrine,
and you can enter through the gate.

You can also view the strolling daimyo garden with its pond,
which was used as the private garden of successive feudal lords.
