It's about an hour by Shinkansen from Tokyo.
Upon disembarking at Karuizawa Station, the clear air and blue skies are sure to relax your mind. 🌿
For lunch, we visited Kawakamian, a popular soba restaurant in Kyu-Karuizawa.
The fragrant soba noodles and crispy tempura offered a refined flavor characteristic of Karuizawa. We enjoyed a relaxing start to our trip in the tranquil setting.
In the afternoon, we headed to Harunire Terrace in Naka-Karuizawa.
We strolled along the deck surrounded by greenery, browsing cafes and general stores. A lemon soda sipped in the dappled sunlight brought a refreshing summer feeling. 🍋
For coffee, we went to Maruyama Coffee.
This roaster, originally from Karuizawa, offers a cup of coffee with a pleasant deep-roasted aroma and soft acidity. ☕️ The soft-serve ice cream is also excellent.
We stayed at Twin-Line Hotel Karuizawa Japan.
We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, "Jose Luis." The Spanish-inspired course was delicately seasoned with Shinshu ingredients. The wine pairing was also delightful, providing a refined and tranquil experience. 🍷
The next morning, we had breakfast at Jose Luis, also in the morning.
Enjoying a meal in the morning light was the perfect way to end our trip.
Our final stop was Karuizawa Taliesin.
The greenery surrounding the lake and the sight of lazing ducks were striking.
It was a relaxing moment surrounded by nature and tranquility.
Karuizawa's nature, fine cuisine, and peaceful time.
Two days truly helped me escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
