Kanazawa Castle Park, located next to Kenrokuen Garden, was developed on the site of Kanazawa Castle, the former residence of the Maeda clan, lords of the Kaga domain.

The vast grounds, where history and nature blend in harmony, still feature castle walls with sparkling white lead tiles and magnificent stone walls.

📍Address: 1-1 Marunouchi, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture
⏰Opening Hours: Free admission (some areas require admission fees)

🏯History of Kanazawa Castle
Since Maeda Toshiie entered the castle in 1583, it flourished as the center of the Kaga domain for approximately 300 years.

While many buildings were lost to repeated fires, the Ishikawa Gate, Sanjukken Nagaya, and Hishi Yagura have been restored, allowing visitors to experience their original appearance.

The beautiful contrast between the white lead tiles and black plaster gives the castle its nickname, "White Heron Castle." 🕊️

🧱Stone Walls Showcasing Craftsmanship
One of Kanazawa Castle's highlights is its stone walls, constructed using a variety of stacking techniques.
It's also recommended to walk around and compare the differences in techniques used throughout the ages!

The stone walls seen from the "Gojukken Nagaya" are particularly impressive.
The beautiful harmony between architecture and nature makes this a popular spot for history buffs and strollers alike.

🌳Seasonal Scenery
With cherry blossoms in spring, green leaves in summer, autumn foliage in fall, and a blanket of snow in winter, there's something to see no matter the season.
A leisurely stroll along the lawn plaza and moat-side paths offers a taste of the tranquil castle town of Kanazawa. 🍃

Kanazawa Castle Park is home to restored buildings and stone walls that preserve their original appearance.
By touring the adjacent Kenrokuen Garden, you can fully appreciate the rich history and beauty of Kanazawa. ✨
