Light and Shadow of Yuzixi

However, people are arriving much earlier before sunset not only due to the traffic jam to reach here before sunset, but also because the view seen from here is spectacular even before sunset, especially the view of valley and rolling mountains stretching from here to the foothills of those snow mountains.

During autumn (2024), the autumn color of vegetation in the valleys and the rolling mountains were strongly enhanced in red coloration by the evening sun. Shadows of the rolling mountains, and direct sunshine of the setting sun shining onto the side of the snow mountains at the east horizon, enhanced the photography effects of the panorama.

Three major snow mountains could be appreciated here, and they were Yala Snow Mountain (to the northeast), Qingrao Holy Mountain (east northeast) and Gongga Mountain (southeast).

Yuzixi is often included as one of the destinations in Daocheng Yading tours. It is also one of the most popular attractions found in the vicinity of Xinduqiao municipal.

During sunset, at such high altitude, the temperature plummets significantly, so don't slack with winter clothing if visiting here. After sunset, large exodus of people from here would cause traffic jam towards Xinduqiao, so don't forget to bring enough snacks to munch on if visiting here.
