The former residence of Zhang Tailei is located at No. 3, Ziheli, Qingliang Road, Changzhou City . It is a two-in-three-bay wooden structure residential building, consisting of three parts: the former residence of Zhang Tailei, the exhibition room of Zhang Tailei's life and deeds, and auxiliary rooms (calligraphy and painting exhibition room).

The former residence is full of the atmosphere of life and truly reproduces the life scenes of the past. The memorial hall also contains precious historical materials such as pictures, oil paintings, and real objects reflecting his life deeds.

Above the gatehouse is a plaque inscribed by Deng Xiaoping, " Zhang Tailei's Former Residence ." A white marble bust of the martyr stands in the courtyard. Entering the main hall, the eastern wing houses the bedroom of Zhang Tailei's mother, Xue, and the western wing, the bedrooms of Zhang Tailei, his wife, Lu Jinghua, and their children, all furnished to reflect their original living conditions.
