Comprehensive Guide to Visiting Lengga Tso

Lengga Tso, a high-altitude lake at 4,500 meters above sea level 💦, is known as the "Eye of Gongga" and is one of the closest viewing spots to Gongga's main peak in Western Sichuan.
It wasn't until visiting Lengga Tso that I realized how breathtaking the golden sunlight on the mountains 🌄 could be. When Gongga Snow Mountain is bathed in golden light, the moment is truly indescribable 🌅.

🚙Routes: Currently, there are two routes to Lengga Tso, Route A and Route B. Route A involves horseback riding/hiking, while Route B includes a local transfer vehicle + hiking.

1⃣Lengga Tso Route A🚶‍♂🐎
Navigation: Bangmu Jide (about 3 hours by car from Xinduqiao)
Ticket🎫: Cleaning fee 30 RMB/person, horseback riding (optional) 200 RMB/person one way
👉🏻TIPS: Bangmu Jide is a village where most self-driving cars stop. From here, you can choose to ride a horse up the mountain or hike (hiking takes about 3 hours).

2⃣Lengga Tso Route B🏍
Navigation: Shangchi Jixi Village (about 1.5 hours by car from Xinduqiao)
🎫Ticket: Cleaning fee 30 RMB/person, minivan 🏍 200 RMB/person round trip
👉🏻TIPS: The transfer vehicle will take you to a fixed point on the mountain, from which you need to hike a bit further. Once you reach the mountain pass, you can see Gongga Snow Mountain 🏔. Walking down to the lakeside takes about half an hour. After watching the sunset, you need to cross the mountain pass again to return to the drop-off point and take the transfer vehicle back down.

⚠️Travel Tips
1⃣Route A to Lengga Tso is convenient for visiting Zimei Pass. Riding a horse up the mountain can take you directly to the lakeside. Route B is less expensive and takes less time, so choose based on your situation.
2⃣It takes 1-3 hours to hike up to Lengga Tso. To catch the sunset, make sure to reach the lakeside before 6 PM.
3⃣For photographing Gongga Snow Mountain, bring a telephoto lens for more stunning shots.
4⃣For Route A, hiking down the mountain is recommended. Prepare a headlamp/flashlight as the path gets slippery and unsafe for horseback riding after dark.
5⃣It's extremely cold on the mountain, so bring warm clothes, hats, dry food, and a thermos bottle.
