These days, many people travel to Kaohsiung. Since there are many direct flights to Kaohsiung, people go to Kaohsiung instead of Taipei. I also traveled to Kaohsiung with a special flight deal.
In Kaohsiung, I stayed at a hotel near the Pier-2 Art District. I thought I would only use taxis for transportation, so I booked a hotel near the Pier-2 Art District based on the view rather than transportation, and I was very, very satisfied with the hotel. The Pier-2 Art District also has many murals and prop shops, which were nice to see. The quality was better than I thought.
The next day, I participated in the Tainan bus tour. I went to many places on the bus tour, but the most memorable place was the Green Tunnel. The most memorable tour was the mangrove trees forming a tunnel, and you could ride a raft.
The Chimei Museum was also impressive. The wonderful buildings and sculpture exhibits stimulated my curiosity. The garden in front of the museum was large and quiet, so it seemed like a good place to take a walk. It was also the best place during the Tainan tour. Since public transportation is inconvenient, it seems difficult to come unless you do a day tour.
The Buddha Memorial Hall is a museum and temple where the Buddha's relics are enshrined. It is a place that boasts the pinnacle of grandeur and can be reached by taxi or bus. It is a bit far from downtown Kaohsiung, so public transportation is inconvenient and it takes a lot of time to go back and forth, but I think it is worth investing that time.
There are many travel stories about Taipei, but Kaohsiung is probably unfamiliar to everyone. How about traveling to Kaohsiung instead of Taipei this time? Kaohsiung is also a hidden city with many delicious restaurants and tourist attractions :)
