Dragon and Tiger Pagodas: A Symbol of Auspicious Blessings

The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas by Lotus Pond are one of the most iconic landmarks in Kaohsiung. As you approach along the lakeside, the seven-story towers reflect on the water, resembling two gates guarding the city. According to local legend, entering through the dragon's mouth and exiting through the tiger's mouth symbolizes driving away bad luck and welcoming good fortune. Following the custom, I walked through the path and silently made a wish in my heart.

Inside the pagodas, vibrant murals depict Buddhist stories and folk legends, inviting visitors to read and reflect as they walk. Climbing to the top of the pagodas, the entire Lotus Pond glistens under the sunlight, with a gentle breeze carrying the coolness of the water, dispelling the summer heat. The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas are not just a photo-worthy spot but also an intimate dialogue with traditional culture.
