Modern and stylish Instagram-worthy hotel

For this trip to Kaohsiung, I specifically chose the InterContinental Kaohsiung Hotel because of its sophisticated design and convenient location. It's just a 10-minute walk to the MRT and light rail. The hotel is located on Xinguang Road, surrounded by department stores, coffee shops, and convenience stores just around the corner.

The hotel environment was truly impressive. From the moment you step in, you can feel the luxurious and artistic atmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and what attracted me the most was the AI smart system. The bedside clock device is equipped with AI, allowing you to control the air conditioning, lights, and curtains with voice commands. The bathroom is also thoughtfully designed with separate wet and dry areas, so you don't have to worry about water splashing everywhere. The view from the bathtub is stunning as well.

The service was commendable. The front desk staff were very friendly and patient during the check-in and check-out process. They proactively assisted with calling taxis and answering questions. The breakfast at the restaurant offered a wide variety of choices and tasted great. I even got to try freshly made Tainan-style danzai noodles.

Regarding the check-in process, I arrived at the hotel around 1 PM, which was before the check-in time, so the room wasn't ready yet. The front desk staff kindly helped me store my luggage and informed me that they would send an email notification once the room was ready, which was very considerate.

Kaohsiung city travel tips: Summer can be very hot, so remember to bring sunscreen. The city is compact, and the MRT and light rail make getting around very convenient. You can plan your itinerary to visit cultural attractions in the morning, head to the beach or shopping districts in the afternoon, and return to the hotel in the evening to enjoy the facilities—perfect for a relaxing trip.
