Kaohsiung Guandi Temple

A large, sacred temple hundreds of years old, it's a popular place for both Taiwanese and tourists to worship and pray. There are many deities, and you can make offerings on the ground floor and upper floor, and you can even climb upstairs. Offerings are available for prayers and various blessings. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The upper floor is cool and offers a great place to rest and refresh.

In front of the temple is a large parking lot. Beside the temple is a well-known noodle shop, a local restaurant offering cheap and delicious food. It's mostly frequented by Taiwanese customers. To get to the shop, face the temple entrance, facing the stairs, and keep to the left. There's a passageway leading to the side of the temple. The shop is right next to the temple wall.

It's a beautiful temple with signs explaining how to worship. The temple has three floors. The stairs are on the side. Go up to the second floor and you'll meet the deity Guan Yu. Light incense and make a wish. It's incredibly sacred.

For offerings, you can simply ask the staff and point to what you want. We bought a set of offerings, which included incense, red envelopes filled with gold leaf, and stacks of red paper. After we finished our offerings, Place incense sticks in the center of the pot, then stick gold leaf on it. Then, burn a stack of red paper. A burning igniter will be used to complete the worship ceremony.

If you're visiting Kaohsiung, I highly recommend visiting this temple. I highly recommend it at least once in your life.
