[Saga] A view that looks like a crane spreading its wings! Introducing Karatsu Castle

Karatsu Castle in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, is located on the bank of the mouth of the Matsuura River where it flows into Karatsu Bay. It is also known as Maizuru Castle because the sandy beach stretches from the opposite bank of the river to the left and right like a crane spreading its wings.

It was completed over a period of seven years by Terazawa Hirotaka, a retainer of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

It is now maintained as Maizuru Park, and has a replica castle tower and a reconstructed turret, making it a popular tourist spot.
It is also a popular spot for cherry blossoms and wisteria.
