Karatsu Castle
About a 20-minute walk from Karatsu Station. It is said that Hideyoshi Toyotomi's vassal, Shimanokami Hirotaka Terazawa, spent seven years building the castle starting in 1602. The current castle tower was completed in 1966 and renovated in 2017.
Also known as Maizuru Castle, it is a famous spot for cherry blossoms and wisteria, but when I went, the wisteria trellis was not visible because the trees were recovering.
