Karuizawa is really perfect for a vacation.

This time we chose to stay at the Indigo Hotel, where the staff's gentle and courteous Japanese service made us feel right at home. Karuizawa itself is incredibly beautiful. When we arrived, it was just above freezing and not quite snowing yet. The weather was sunny, the sky was very clear, and the lake had a thin layer of ice, which was also a beautiful sight. The hotel's food was excellent. Isn't this what a vacation is all about? Delicious food, hot springs, and beautiful scenery. No wonder it's a famous resort destination in Japan.
