Guxing Town, located in Zhengzhou's Huiji District, was the site of a decisive battle between Xiang Yu, King of Western Chu, and Liu Bang, King of Han, in 204 BC , making it a crucial battleground for military strategists. The area boasts the ruins of the ancient Xingyang City, the Han Dynasty iron smelting site in Guxing, the Jigong Temple, the Zhouke Temple, the City God Temple, the Confucius Family Temple, and the scenic Yellow River Scenic Area, the Yellow River Grand View, and the Dahe Manor.
Near the Guxing Town government, there's an ancient building known locally as the City God Temple. It's also called the Yingze Ancient Building. Originally built during the Northern Song Dynasty, it boasts a thousand-year history. The gold-burning censer in the temple's center was cast during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. Its 26 wooden stakes are all made of precious nanmu wood.
Ancient Xingyang City was first built during the Warring States Period. Its roughly rectangular walls remain largely intact. Within the city, granaries were located in the northeast, government offices were located on the eastern highlands, and residential areas were located in the south. Ancient house foundations, rammed earth platforms, water pipes, and other urban structures have been discovered within the city. Han Dynasty iron smelting workshops have also been discovered outside the city.
