Looking for a peaceful and charming temple experience in Japan? Make your way to Shofukuji Temple (正福寺) in Kasama City, Ibaraki. Though modest in size, this temple offers a truly unique experience—especially for goshuin (temple stamp) collectors!

To my surprise, the temple offers around 40 different types of goshuin—from traditional red seals to colorful, artistic versions and even ones featuring Sanskrit characters (bonji). It’s a paradise for stamp lovers and one-of-a-kind keepsake seekers.

Even more memorable was meeting the friendly female head priest, who welcomed visitors warmly and answered questions with genuine kindness. The personal touch made the visit feel even more special.
