Former site of Tadataka Ino's house

Located along the river in the town of Sawara, Chiba, this is the site of the house where Ino Tadataka lived until he was 50 years old.
Ino Tadataka was from Sawara, and is a historical figure known for his surveys of the Japanese region. Before surveying Japan, he lived in this house as a merchant.
Admission is free. It is a spacious house befitting a wealthy merchant, and you can see the Japanese-style room and kitchen.
There is also a storehouse at the back, which you can take a peek inside.
It was a tasteful house that blended in with the surrounding streets of Little Edo.
