Enjoy the charm of Kawazu cherry blossoms in early spring! Kawazu cherry blossoms are in full bloom from late February to March. Let's enjoy this famous cherry blossom spot that attracts many tourists every year.

In Kawazu Town (Izu), more than 8,000 Kawazu cherry trees are planted along the Kawazu River for about 3.6 kilometers, and they bloom beautifully in early spring. You can see beautiful cherry blossoms right from Kawazu Station. During the cherry blossom festival, you can not only enjoy the cherry blossoms, but also enjoy delicious food stalls such as cherry blossom taiyaki, grilled oysters, mandarin orange juice, and grilled skewers. In Minami Izu, there are Kawazu cherry blossoms called Aonogawa Senkabu Sakura and about 3 hectares of rapeseed fields, which are a hidden cherry blossom spot where you can avoid crowds with a beautiful contrast of yellow and pink. The best time to see the flowers is from late February to March for Kawazu cherry blossoms, and from late January for the rapeseed fields. The cherry blossom festival is held from February 1st to March 9th in Kawazu Town and from February 1st to March 10th in Minami Izu.

In Minamiizu, you can enjoy melon parfaits at Ogiya Seika, terrace cafes at 531 Coffee & Bake, Chinese food at Ebi Shika Kattan, Western food at Dining Ikeda, and yakiniku at Katsura Uma. For transportation, take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Atami Station to Kawazu Town, then take the JR Ito Line and Izu Kyuko Line to Kawazu Station. You can also go directly to Kawazu Station on the Limited Express Odoriko or SAPHIR Odoriko. To get to Minamiizu, get off at Izukyu Shimoda Station and take a bus to each spot. To get to Yunahanada, take a bus from Izukyu Shimoda Station to Shimogamo, get off at the "Hino" bus stop, and walk to the venue. To get to the Sakura Festival venue, get off at the "Kujobashi" bus stop, and walk for 2-3 minutes. Get your camera ready and head out to enjoy the early spring cherry blossoms!
