Chaojing Park was originally a landfill but has been completely transformed into a stunning coastal park. The park features expansive grassy areas and offers breathtaking views, where you can simultaneously enjoy the sight of Jiufen mountain town and the endless ocean. Visiting on a sunny day will instantly lift your mood!
The park is famous for its photogenic art installations! Highlights include the giant "Flying Broomstick," a nautilus-shaped slide, and many other interesting sculptures. Every spot is perfect for taking photos, and you might find your phone's memory filling up quickly! 🧹
One thing to note is that the park is located by the sea, and the wind can be incredibly strong! We're not exaggerating—it’s the kind of wind that can blow away hats and scarves, and leave your hair looking wild. Be sure to tidy up before snapping photos. 🤣
🌊 Atmosphere/Facilities:
The park is very spacious, making it ideal for bringing kids to run around, fly kites, or enjoy a picnic with a mat while gazing at the ocean. It’s a wonderfully relaxing spot.
In addition to strolling through the park, there are several great nearby attractions:
- Chaojing Intelligent Ocean Center (i OCEAN): Located right next to the park, this modern aquarium features various marine creatures, a massive tank, and VR experiences. It’s perfect for rainy days or family outings.
- Environmental Restoration Park: Cross the Pinglang Bridge to reach a small hill opposite the park. From the top, you can enjoy an even better view of Chaojing Park and the ocean.
💰 Cost Information:
🔺 Park Admission: Completely free.
🚍 Parking Info: The park has several pay-per-use/hourly parking lots, costing around NT$50 per visit or NT$30 per hour. Parking spaces are highly sought after on weekends, so it’s best to arrive early. Otherwise, you may need to park farther away and walk over.
📣 The park is close to the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology and Badouzi Fishing Harbor, making it easy to plan a one-day North Coast trip. Start your day at Chaojing Park for a stroll and photo session, enjoy fresh seafood at Badouzi Fishing Harbor for lunch, and spend the afternoon at the Marine Science Museum cooling off and exploring exhibits. It’s a perfect itinerary!
