Introducing Boxian Park

Boxian Park is the city's only memorial park dedicated to Zhao Sheng, a revolutionary martyr. Located on the southern slope of Yuntai Mountain in Zhenjiang City, the park covers an area of ​​120 mu (approximately 16 acres). It was initiated by Leng Yuqiu of the Tongmenghui and designed by renowned landscape expert Professor Chen Zhi. Construction began in 1926 and opened in June 1931. The park, nestled against the mountainside like a giant throne, boasts 28 ancient and valuable trees, creating a lush, fresh, and tranquil environment. The "May 30th" lecture hall within the park is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit. In 1979, Honorary President Soong Ching Ling inscribed the park's name, which is now engraved on a stone to the right of the park's main gate. In October 1980, Tian Huan, former secretary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, personally wrote "Zhao Boxian's Resume," which is now engraved on the left side of the park's main gate.

Boxian Park is located at the southeast foot of Yuntai Mountain, west of Zhenjiang City. Established to commemorate Zhao Sheng (Boxian), a martyr of the modern democratic revolution, it covers an area of ​​8.6 hectares and is the only memorial park in the city. In 1926, Leng Yuqiu, a veteran member of the Tongmenghui, proposed the establishment of Zhao Sheng Park. Designed by the famous garden expert Chen Zhi, it was completed in June 1931. Initially named Zhao Sheng Park, it was later renamed Boxian Park, and the south road in front of the park was renamed Boxian Road. In 1931, a ceremony was held to inaugurate the park and unveil the bronze statue of Zhao Sheng. Liu Yizheng, a famous cultural and historical expert and a local, inscribed the six characters "Statue of Zhao Gong Boxian" on the front of the statue's base and also wrote the inscription.
