Chasing samurai legends and qu

Chasing samurai legends and quirky harbor art? Here’s my quick guide to Kitakyushu and Fukuoka’s most unique spots in a single sweep 🌸⚔️🦸♂️

Top Spots to Visit:

Kokura Castle (2-1 Jonai, Kokurakita Ward): Open daily (Apr-Oct 09:00-20:00, Nov-Mar 09:00-19:00). Dive into samurai history through interactive exhibits—try on armor or play with traditional objects, not just pose for pics! 🏯

MOJIKO (3-9 Minatomachi, Moji Ward): Retro port vibes, cute coffee stalls, and scenic seafront. Stroll through preserved architecture and snap iconic sea views anytime.

Bananaman Statues (9, Moji Ward): Open all day, every day. Giant yellow banana figures standing at the harbor—totally random, totally photo-worthy! 🍌

Blue Wing Moji (4-1 Minatomachi): Japan's only walkable drawbridge, open year-round. Wait for the hourly lift, then cross the bridge for a cool harbor legend moment.

Where to Shop:

Canal City mall is a place for young and adults to shop. there are anime shops and card games the young can indulge while the adults can shop around in GU, Uniqlo, ABC mart, etc. the family can watch musical water show with lighting effects at night to end it.

Travel Tips:

- Trains are fast and direct between Kitakyushu and Fukuoka—JR passes work well, and both MOJIKO and Kokura stations are close to main attractions.
- Many attractions are walkable once you’re near the harbor area.
- At most spots, bring cash; not everywhere accepts cards.
- Try Moji Port’s classic banana treats and Fukuoka’s famous ramen for local flavor.
