Fukuoka, Kitakyushu "Kitchen of Kitakyushu" Tanga Market

Tanga Market, known as the "Kitchen of Kitakyushu," has been hit by two fires in quick succession and has undergone a major transformation.

The scars from the fires are still fresh and extensive damage can be seen.

Stores that escaped the fires continue to operate and efforts toward recovery appear to be underway.

We look forward to the recovery of Tanga Market so that we can return to the town as tourists.
