📍Hyogo, Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art
Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art is one of the largest museums in western Japan, and is celebrating its 20th anniversary since its opening.
It has now become one of the landmarks of Hyogo!
In addition, there are many points inside and outside the museum where you can feel close to art!
First of all, the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art was designed by the world-famous architect Tadao Ando.
You can enjoy the architectural style of this building, which effectively uses exposed concrete and light.
First, head to the mountain-side entrance between the first exhibition building and the gallery building. The gap between the huge buildings is like the bottom of a deep valley, and invites you into the museum with an exciting feeling as if you have wandered into a temple in a foreign country.
The most popular of the many exhibits is the giant green apple!
This is an object that Ando designed and donated in 2019, inspired by the American poet Samuel Ullman's "Poem of Youth."
Next to it are Ando's words, "What we are aiming for is not the spirit of a sweet, ripe red apple, but the spirit of a green apple that, even though it is unripe and sour, is full of hope for tomorrow. (Excerpt)," which gives a sense of Ando's passion for his creations.
Of course, photography is allowed here as a photo spot, and the majority of visitors take their special shots here.
