Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Osaka Rampage! Be a "foodie" under the neon lights
Day 2: The temptation of Nara’s deer, bowing and acting cute to get fed
Day 3: Kyoto time travel, kimono + matcha = perfect match
Day 4: Kobe Harbor breeze, eat the "Hermès of beef"
Day 5: Universal Studios scream, get the Harry Potter wand!
Daily itinerary + pitfall avoidance guide + food attack
Day 1: Osaka · The "City of Sin" on the tip of your tongue
📍Must do: View the whole city from Tsutenkaku Tower (elevator queue warning) → Take photos at Dotonbori with Glico Running Man (neon lights are better at night) → Shop at Shinsaibashi (don’t buy cosmetics in tourist spots! It’s cheaper near Kuromon Market)
🍢Must eat:
Takoyaki at Akaki (rich sauce, chewy octopus)
Okonomiyaki at Dorajyu (cheese pull is super sinful, but you must order a drink)
Late night skewers at バッテンよかとぉ (cheese tofu is a must! Arrive before 6 PM to avoid queues)
🚇Transport tip: Don’t foolishly wait for the limited express at Kansai Airport! Nankai Railway direct to Namba is cheaper
Day 2: Nara · The "Gentle Trap" of the little deer
📍Must do: Feed deer at Nara Park (keep deer crackers safe! Bowing is a trick, watch out for butt bumps) → See the world’s largest wooden building at Todai-ji (there’s a "time travel hole" under the Great Buddha Hall pillar) → Watch sunset at Wakakusa Mountain (few people at the top, beautiful view, and gentle deer)
🍵Must eat:
Kakinoha sushi at Hiraso (Nara exclusive, rice wrapped with salty fish is very special)
Lunch at Mizutani Chaya for ochazuke (window view of Kasuga Taisha forest)
🚶Pitfall tip: Don’t wear white shoes! Deer poop + mud = disaster scene
Day 3: Kyoto · Kimono day and night
📍Must do: Take photos at Kiyomizu-dera like Conan (wear lightweight wooden clogs with kimono) → Fushimi Inari Taisha for the thousand torii gates (go at 7 AM to avoid crowds) → Listen to the wind in Arashiyama Bamboo Grove (avoid the crowded Togetsukyo Bridge, go to Jojakko-ji Temple to see moss)
🍱Must eat:
Lunch at Kyo no Yakiniku Hiro (beef tongue melts in your mouth, WeChat Pay super convenient)
Matcha ice cream at Nakamura Tokichi Honten (old Uji brand, queues but worth it)
👘Kimono tips: Don’t pick bright red or purple! Solid colors + contrasting obi look better in photos (rent near Gion, about 300 HKD/day)
Day 4: Kobe · Sea breeze and Wagyu beef
📍Must do: Take photos at Kitano Ijinkan for European-style streetscape (choose a 3-house combo ticket for better value) → Ride the Ferris wheel at Kobe Harbor (night view is 10 times better than daytime) → Stroll at Meriken Park (seaside café is super chill)
🥩Must eat:
Kobe Wagyu at WASSIA (over 400 HKD per person, fat aroma will make you cry)
Afternoon pudding at Kazamidori Honpo (Ijinkan’s popular shop, rich milky flavor)
🚢Transport tip: Take JR from Osaka directly to Sannomiya Station, don’t trust private cars! Train takes 30 minutes
Day 5: Osaka · Universal Studios scream finale
🎢Must do:
Rush to Harry Potter area early! (choose frozen butterbeer, not too sweet)
Buy Nintendo World wristbands in advance! (interactive games are addictive)
Doraemon XR roller coaster (wear glasses! Weightlessness + thrilling story)
🍔Park food:
Mario restaurant’s "Question Block Rice" (great for photos, average taste)
Minion popcorn bucket (carry it and you’re the coolest in the park!)
🎫Money-saving tip: Buy Express Pass early! Weekend lines start at 2 hours
Kansai’s soul test (must see to avoid pitfalls!)
❌Pitfall 1: Don’t buy random transport cards! Use ICOCA in Osaka, Kyoto bus day pass is better value
❌Pitfall 2: Bring at least 30,000 yen in cash! Fushimi Inari snacks and Nara deer crackers only accept cash
❌Pitfall 3: Don’t bring selfie sticks to Universal Studios! They will be confiscated
✅Pro tip: Download Norikae Annai + Google Maps, subway times are accurate to the minute
