The floating mosque is located next to the center of Kota Kinabalu, about a 10-minute drive away. It is surrounded by an artificial lake. It is a very typical Islamic building and one of the must-see tourist attractions in Sabah! You must confirm the business hours before going. If you encounter a Muslim worship activity, you will not be able to enter to visit. The mosque is a very sacred place for Muslims. You cannot play or make noises inside and must maintain a respectful attitude. You also need to wear tight clothes when entering to visit. There are clothes for rent now, but I have to say that they are very good at doing business. Even if I wear long sleeves and long pants, they will directly ask you to buy a ticket and put on clothes 🤣 And they will also require tickets to take pictures outside, but the prices are not expensive and there is no time limit. Just experience the local customs and folkways. I thought it would be stuffy inside, but there were super large electric fans, which was very refreshing.
🌞Tickets for taking photos outside are RM5
🌞Renting simple clothing is RM5
🌞Renting exquisite clothing is RM10
