Spoiler: I REGRET... not having enough time or money to stay another day! LOL
Got so lucky! The weather was perfect—clear skies, no clouds, and the sea was literally glass-like! On a day like this, there’s no need to go to the far islands—the nearby ones are just 15 mins by boat, super convenient.
If I had more time, I would totally spend one full day just chilling on the island, and another day for activities like snorkeling.
But alas, your girl is a 9-to-5 warrior on a tight schedule—so this was a special ops-style trip!
We arrived at the jetty around 11:30 AM, MK’s next boat wasn’t until 1 PM (too late), so we went to window #8 and just YOLO-ed it.
In the end, three of us went to Sapi & Mamutik Island, and two did parasailing + banana boat—total cost: 210 MYR.
Heads-up on extra costs:
Life jackets: they said 10 MYR/person, but we negotiated 20 for all three of us (felt like the guy pocketed that lol)
Island entrance fee: another 25 MYR/person
Banana boat: Since it was noon and no one else was around, it was basically a private ride for just the two of us! The local guy was super friendly and even helped take photos.
Parasailing: Not scary at all—super smooth and peaceful. If you like thrills, you can ask to dip into the water! We only went down to knee level ‘cause we didn’t wanna get soaked haha.
