Follow Yoshitomo Nara to Jinguashi, and it feels like you've arrived at the Seto Inland Sea Art Festival

I've been to Jinguashi several times, usually traveling from Jiufen to the Gold Museum and back. This was my first time following the "Yoshitomo Nara" exhibition, traveling along the north coast of Jinguashi to "Jinshui 361," experiencing a different kind of Jinguashi.

The Yoshitomo Nara exhibition reminded me that a work of art must be presented as a team effort to truly shine. Simply placing Nara's paintings on a white wall, while beautiful, seems to lack something. However, when paired with a suitable environment, the works come alive, telling their own stories. The combination of mountains, sea, and artwork made me feel like I was attending an art festival in the Seto Inland Sea.

From Jinshui 361, you can overlook the "Yin Yang Sea," a truly beautiful sight.

🚗Transportation: Take bus 965 from Taipei's Ximending district to Ruifang's District Citizens Square. Transfer to minibus 177 and get off at Ruchuan Bridge. Walk a short distance downhill. When you see a fork in the road, turn left and walk uphill. Continue toward the red brick building. When you see the stairs, go up and you'll see Jinshui 361.

💰Admission: The Yoshitomo Nara exhibition is free, but reservations must be made online in advance.

🏔️Side trip: On the return trip, take bus 177. The driver will stop at Golden Waterfall for 10 minutes. After receiving a card, you can get off the bus and take photos. After 10 minutes, you can return to the bus. The bus ticket is NT$15 for one leg. You can also visit Golden Waterfall and then go to Jiufen to eat taro balls and enjoy the night view. It's very convenient.
