Taking an easy day tour around Kota Kinabalu

Kota Kinabalu (known as KK locally) is most famous for the arguably tallest mountain in Southeast Asia. But that aside, the township is worth a day tour too.

I personally enjoyed the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque. It looks like floating on a lagoon, and the blue and gold dome looks amazing against the sky. You can choose to walk in, but do bear in mind that you need to be well-covered above shoulders and below knees.

KK is also known for its beaches, eg. Tanjung Aru Beach. It’s a long, laid-back beach lined with big shady trees, and the sunsets are said to be just unreal (though I didn’t quite catch one).
