Where Rainforest Meets Raw Elegance

At the beginning of the year, I traveled to Sabah, Borneo, and stayed at the Luma Hotel, not far from Kota Kinabalu Airport. Because my trip spanned a weekend, I had to place two separate reservations to secure a three-night stay.
This hotel, which opened at the end of 2022, has won a design award and is known as the "Michelin star" of the hotel world. As soon as you enter the lobby, you're greeted by the rich aroma of essential oils. The overall design is unique, and paired with the relaxing jazz music, it's incredibly relaxing.
The lobby has sofa seating and a bar selling drinks and desserts. The hotel's design is ingenious, with every corner worthy of a photo opp!
Since I split my three nights into two reservations, I asked at check-in if I needed to change rooms for the third night. The staff said it would be more convenient to keep us in the same room, and I agreed. However, upon arrival, I discovered I had been assigned a city view room facing the main road, whereas my original reservation had been for a room facing the atrium. The two room types were priced differently, so I immediately contacted the front desk.
The staff patiently listened to my explanation and agreed to change my room! The new room I was assigned was much more spacious and faced the atrium, making it very relaxing. I was very pleased with it!
The room was provided with slippers, bathrobes, and other amenities. Bottled water and tea bags were placed on the bar, and housekeeping would replenish the bottled water if it ran out.
The bathroom had both large and small towels, along with all the necessary toiletries, and the fixtures were all brand new! During my three-night stay, housekeeping came in daily to clean up the room, making it a very comfortable stay!
Overall, my ratings are as follows:
Value for money ⭐⭐⭐
Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
