Konpira Shrine (commonly known as Konpira-san), located in Kotohira Town, Kagawa Prefecture, is a power spot long worshipped as the god of the sea. ⛩️
There are a whopping 785 stone steps leading up to the main shrine! And if you go all the way to the inner shrine, there are a total of 1,368 steps. The climb is tough, but the sense of accomplishment at the top and the breathtaking view of the Sanuki Plain below are exceptional. ✨
Along the way, you can enjoy historic buildings, souvenir shops, and the famous Konpira udon noodles, helping to soothe your travel fatigue.
I visited early in the morning, so the air was crisp and refreshing. After worshiping, I felt refreshed and like a new person. 🌿
This is the perfect spot for those looking for a little exercise, blessings, or spectacular views.
It's a wonderful place to climb as a couple, encouraging each other, or even a great way to take some time to reflect on yourself on a solo trip.
