Dining in Kowloon City | Nam Kok | Enjoying a quality breakfast in a former hardware store.

Nam Kok has been on the waffle's to-eat list for a while, and finally got the chance to have breakfast there in December 2023.

Nam Kok was formerly a long-established hardware store, where the floral iron gate and carved iron door frame have been preserved.

'Yi Shun Wing' was the name of the hardware store.

The interior is decorated with old-fashioned TVs, rotary dial telephones, and ice cream advertisement boards, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.

Breakfast is served until 11:30 am, with ten options available.

I ordered the Big Brekkie ($118), a beautifully plated meal brimming with a variety of foods, including scrambled eggs, bacon, Nuremberg sausage, smoked salmon, sautéed mushrooms, roasted cherry tomatoes, and sourdough bread. The scrambled eggs were fragrant and smooth, and the sourdough bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside, very delicious.

For drinks, I added $10 for a Flat White, a standard creation.

Next time, I'd like to try other specialty coffees.
