Merdeka Square is a landmark for visiting Kuala Lumpur. The square is located in the heart of the city, surrounded by unique and beautiful architectural buildings. Built when it was a British colony to serve as the administrative center of the British colony, it has the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and a 40-meter-high clock tower, known as Malaysia's Big Ben. It is an important historical tourist attraction, suitable for taking pictures and studying history. It includes many important places, such as the location of the former palace, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the post office, the Textile Museum, the KL Gallery, the Kuala Lumpur Library, and the location of the tallest flagpole in the world.
On Malaysia's Independent Day, every year, Merdeka Day is held here, which is a celebration of the independence of Malaysians. It is considered a national day. There will be a grand parade. The surrounding atmosphere is a large lawn for relaxing and decorated with wide green bushes. In the evening, the lights are turned on, which is very beautiful. Every angle is beautiful for taking pictures.
