Store information

Store name: Meizhenlin

Business hours: 11:30-21:30 (closed on Mondays, open at 09:30 on weekends)

Address: 150, Jalan Petaling, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

After visiting the Central Market in the morning, I walked to the nearby Petaling Street. I read that this is the local Chinatown. As a result, when I walked in from the big shop, all the merchants standing in front of the door were Malay/Indonesian/Filipino or They were people wearing Islamic clothes, and it didn’t have the feeling of a Chinatown at all. My wife and I didn’t dare to walk in front of the merchants or stop at the stalls. In the end, we just took a look at it and walked straight out of Petaling Street towards Meizhen Forest. .

From Google Maps, I saw that Meizhenlin was next to He Jiu, who visited a few days ago, but when we walked nearby, we couldn't find their house. I even walked around the block to look for it, and finally found out that it was actually there from the beginning. I passed by because the restaurant is on the 2nd floor with a small sign and I didn’t see it. I must point out that the address in Kuala Lumpur is not written on which floor it is, including when we go to department stores or shopping malls. We only know this store. The problem in this building is that there is no sign of which floor there is, so it is very inconvenient for us to find it slowly by ourselves.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a super strong air conditioner. It was not an ordinary cold one and you really need a thin coat. I instantly liked this place. My wife wanted to drink coffee at this place at first, but we It was almost 2 o'clock when we arrived and we didn't have lunch, so we simply ordered food. They ordered by scanning the QR code, but we couldn't place the order successfully because we were not locals. In the end, we invited The clerk helps with ordering. I made a big mistake here and forgot to take a picture of the menu. My wife and I completely forgot what the dishes we ordered were called. I checked online and found that the store’s menu had changed, so I couldn’t restore my memory by looking at the menu. Sorry for those who want to refer to it 🙏 🏻, what we ordered was a dish similar to seafood noodles but with pen tube noodles. It tasted very fresh, sweet and rich, and the taste was very moderate. The other dish was similar to a barbecue platter. The meat used was very tender chicken, and it was paired with the special dipping sauce provided by the store. The sauce is delicious. My wife said that Meizhenlin used to make similar breakfasts like He Jiu, such as space buns, toast, drinks, coffee, etc. But this time we visited, it felt like there was a change of owner and now they sell something similar. Fusion cuisine, combining Malaysian, Indonesian and Islamic cuisine.

Overall, the location, service attitude, and food quality are all good, especially the air-conditioning is super cool. I recommend you to come and sit there if you get tired of shopping at Central Market/Petaling Street. After all, they are recommended by Michelin~
