Kwai Chai Hong is located at the intersection of Sultan Street and Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur and has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in recent years. Although there is no official record of the origin of the name "Kwai Chai Hong," local guides say it has nothing to do with ghosts. Instead, it comes from the fact that children used to love playing in this alley, and the neighbors affectionately called them "Kwai Chai" (meaning "ghost kids"). Over time, the place became known as "Kwai Chai Hong."
In the alley, old houses have been renovated into various unique shops, and the colorful murals on the walls vividly depict the lifestyle of the old days. Additionally, the area still preserves Kuala Lumpur’s oldest century-old street lamps, witnessing the passage of time.
If you get tired from walking, why not try some refreshing desserts! Among them, the pale green ice cream sold at a nearby shop caught my eye. It is made with pandan leaves, giving it a subtle fragrance. On a hot day, a bite of this ice cream instantly fills you with happiness!
