Afloat: above the bustling of city

Afloat Coffee Roaster in Bukit Jalil sits quietly on the second floor, slightly removed from the street noise, and welcomes with a sense of calm and careful curation.
The space is minimalist and airy, with pale wood tones, clean surfaces, and a soft hum of focus around the long bar where coffee is brewed with intent. I picked a seat by the balcony that opens to a quiet view of green patches—nothing dramatic, but enough to slow down my thoughts.
Alongside a smooth flat white, I tried their house-made bagel. It doesn’t go the chewy, dense New York route; instead, it’s lighter, more bread-like, with a gentle crust and a satisfying warmth that works especially well toasted. It’s a subtle kind of comfort—less about tradition, more about how everything here is done just slightly their own way.
