A Hidden Historical Gem in the middle of Kuala Lumpur - PWTC

If you ever find yourself around World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (PWTC) during lunch hour… don’t just pass by. This place is surprisingly worth a quick stop 👣✨
🚆 Easy Access:
PWTC is directly connected to the LRT station, so you can literally step off the train and walk in from the front entrance (Dewan Merdeka, you’ll see flags of Malaysian states in front). If you’re craving something extra after, Sunway Putra Mall is just a short walk away so don’t worry about long detour.
🏛️ Why It’s Special:
Right at the main entrance, there’s a long mural wall that tells the story of Malaysia’s journey.. from the British colonial era to modern times.
The beautiful drawings on the wall make history easy to follow, and below each mural is a short, clear description of what happened on the period depicted on the mural.
Across the hall, you’ll see painted portraits of Malaysia’s key figures, from Tun Razak to Najib Razak. In just a few minutes, you get a fast but impactful crash course in the country’s journey to the present day 🇲🇾.
Honestly, after walking through, I felt proud and I’m not even Malaysian. This is the kind of underrated cultural spot more people should visit.
🆓 Good to Know:
Entrance is FREE
Open weekdays, 9 am–5 pm
Wear modest clothing (it’s still a government building + it’s cold inside anyway 🥶)
Perfect for escaping Malaysia’s midday heat 🔥
☕ If you don’t feel like walking to the mall for lunch, there’s even a local cafe inside PWTC. And yes — they sell Baju Melayu and Batik too if you’re in the mood to shop 🛍️
✨ A short, meaningful stop that most tourists overlook. Don’t miss it the next time you’re around Chow Kit or KL city. #malaysia #travel #kualalumpur #kualalumpurguide
