Nice hotel in Kuala Lumpur

I've experienced various accommodations around KL, like ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre, ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park, and Holiday Inn Express, so I've got a solid comparison baseline. Last year, I opted to try Mercure Shaw Parade, and it was genuinely a fantastic decision. Here's why: the pricing is often similar to ibis KLCC, but both breakfast and service feel superior. The breakfast isn't extensive, but it's thoughtful: a smart variety, flavorful, and well-prepared. My friend and I appreciated both the morning selection and the items from their a la carte menu. Evenings were the highlight — dining on the rooftop, absorbing the city view, and savoring the fresh air. Their "chili cut" — essentially soy sauce with fresh chilies — demands special mention. Simple, yet soulful. Fun fact: that sauce was part of my first visit. I arrived hungry for dinner, ended up on the rooftop, loved the meal — and afterward decided to book a stay. There's also a Starbucks on the ground level. I didn't try it, but it seems cozy — uncertain if it's part of the lobby or a separate tenant. There's no single dazzling feature — but everything clicks: location, comfort, dining, service. The area is well-connected with monorail and LRT nearby, and you can even stroll to the city center if you're up for it. Overall? Highly recommend. Great value for money, plus a sense of care and individuality that big chains occasionally lack.
