Kuandian Red Tourism Guide 🚩|Relive the Glorious Past, Feel the Patriotic Spirit
This border town holds countless heroic stories. Follow the footsteps of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea for a soul-stirring red tourism experience!
📍Must-Visit Spots
1️⃣ Railway War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea Museum - Prelude Hall
The solemn historical atmosphere hits you as soon as you enter. The immersive design of the Prelude Hall instantly transports you back to the war-torn era. A guided tour is recommended to better understand the stories behind the exhibits.
2️⃣ Railway War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea Museum
This is the only museum in China dedicated to the railway transport efforts during the war. It houses numerous precious artifacts and historical photos, with the most awe-inspiring being the real-life display of the "indestructible steel transport line." After the visit, you'll feel deep respect for the railway soldiers of that era.
3️⃣ Shanghekou National Border Gate
As a key port on the China-North Korea border, standing before the gate evokes an indescribable sense of solemnity. It’s also the eastern starting point of the Great Wall—don’t forget to take a photo at the boundary marker! The green mountains of North Korea in the background make for a stunning view.
4️⃣ Railway·Shanghekou Glass Viewing Platform Overlooking the River
An adrenaline-pumping 360° fully transparent glass platform! Below you are the rushing Yalu River and steep cliffs—daredevils must take on this challenge. The best time for photos is 4-5 PM when the sunset turns the river golden.
🍴 Food Recommendations:
✅ Shanghekou Fish Restaurant (near the border gate): Try the authentic wild fish from the Yalu River—tender and delicious.
✅ Kuandien Stone Pot Bibimbap (opposite the museum): A local favorite with generous toppings.
✨ Practical Tips:
1. All venues require ID for reservation.
2. Wear comfortable sneakers—there are many stairs in the museum.
3. High heels are not allowed on the glass platform.
4. Do not take photos toward the North Korean side in the border area.
