#Sakura2024 "Kumamoto Castle" is a landmark and important tourist attraction of Kumamoto City. It is a castle located on a hill in the center of the city. In late March, cherry blossoms will be in full bloom around the castle. Before entering the castle grounds, you must purchase an entrance ticket.

Admission fee: 800 yen

Starting from the entrance, there is a walkway like a bridge with a high fence and signs for walking around the castle grounds. This will allow you to see various parts such as walls, moats, and old buildings. During the cherry blossom season in late March, you can see cherry blossoms from a high angle on the walkway. They are in full bloom and are very beautiful.

When you enter the Kumamoto Castle, which has been renovated, you will find an exhibition about the history and origins of the castle, and a collection of antique items. When you enter the castle, it is recommended to take your time and slowly walk around each part. When you reach the top floor, there is a viewpoint of Kumamoto City. You can also see a beautiful view of the city from above.

Access: From Fukuoka, take the Shinkansen at Hakata Station to Kumamoto Station (38 minutes) (can be used with the JR Kyushu Rail Pass). Then take the tram to Kumamoto Castle/City Hall Station.
