Great place for shopping in the center of Kumamoto

The first impression of Kumamoto is that it is a very rural place.
But it’s a completely different experience in the city center.
SAKURA MACHI in Sakuramachi, Kumamoto City and AMU PLAZA at Kumamoto Station are both large complex facilities that combine shopping, entertainment, food, and souvenir shopping.

In particular, SAKURA MACHI's Kumamon stands out.
This is also the Kumamoto Sakura-cho Bus Terminal, where both airport buses and express buses to other cities are located.

THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS "The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls" has a POP UP STORE at the special venue on the 2nd floor of SAKURA MACHI. There are some display boards for everyone to check in, and one of their live stage costumes is also displayed.

If you like Kumamon, remember to go to Kumamon Village (くまモンビレッジ) because there will be many Kumamon-themed limited edition products here. If you come at 1pm on Sunday, Kumamon will appear in adventure clothing. There are also some Kumamon dolls that you can check in at other times, and there are also some unique cooperative products on display. Of course, souvenirs can be found here, such as mineral water in the shape of Kumamoto Castle.

Although I didn't live near Kumamoto Station during my visit to Kumamoto, it was still quick to get there by taking the tram from Sakuramachi.
I heard that ASO MILK from Abe Farm is a milk that you must try when you come to Kumamoto. There just happens to be a store near Kumamoto Station where you can buy it. It has a very rich milky flavor and is really good.

AMU PLAZA next to Kumamoto Station will open in 2021.
The artificial waterfall in the mall is very spectacular, and some of the landscaping also incorporates technological displays.
Of course, Kumamon is also hiding inside the facility, so you can look for him.
