Kumamoto Castle, the symbol of Kumamoto City.

Kumamoto Castle, a large castle in the Kyushu region, is regarded as one of Japan's three most famous castles. The castle was affected by the 2016 earthquake, with nearly one-third of its walls damaged. However, it has been beautifully restored. Inside the castle, there are exhibits on the restoration work done after the earthquake, as well as displays of ancient artifacts.
To get there, take the Kumamoto Castle Loop Bus from Kumamoto Station and get off at the Kumamoto Castle stop. Admission is 500 yen.
