The A'ai Cave, hidden deep within the Kizilia Grand Canyon in Kuqa, Xinjiang, is a nationally protected key cultural relic. Dating back to around the 8th century AD, this Buddhist cave features mural styles reminiscent of the Dunhuang art from the Tang Dynasty, reflecting the fusion of Central Plains culture and Western Frontier artistry. Carved into a majestic red sandstone cliff, the cave sits in a serene and spectacular setting. Though weathered by time, it silently narrates the brilliance and mystique of ancient Buddhism along the Silk Road.
