The Kurume Castle Ruins is a historical site located in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It was originally the residence of the Arima clan of the Kurume clan in the Edo period.
🏯 Introduction to Kurumi Castle Ruins
- Formerly known as "Sasahara Castle", it is a castle built on a small hill along the Chigogawa River, which is a castle that combines flat and hilly terrain.
- Although the castle itself no longer exists, the Ishigaki (stone wall) and Neiho (moat) are still well preserved and you can feel the majesty of the former city.
- There is also the Shinoyama Shrine in the city, dedicated to the ancestor Arima, and the #Arima Memorial Hall, which displays information about the Arima family.
🌸 A good place for cherry blossom viewing in spring
- Every spring, about 49 cherry blossom trees bloom at the city trail, including somei Yoshino, mountain cherry, and sunshine cherry, dyeing the entire city site a pale pink, beautiful and romantic.
Simply put, Kurume Castle Ruins is a place that blends history, nature and culture, and is worth a visit whether you love monuments or flower viewing.
