[Shiga] Introducing Kusatsu-shuku, which flourished as the confluence of the Tokaido and Nakasendo roads

Kusatsu-juku, located in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture, is the 52nd post town of the 53 Tokaido stations, and flourished during the Edo period as the confluence of the Tokaido and Nakasendo roads.

The Kusatsu-juku Honjin, where feudal lords and nobles stayed, is one of the largest remaining inns, and you can tour the inside.

There is also the Kusatsu-juku Kaido Exchange Center nearby, where you can learn about the prosperity of the road and the history of Kusatsu.
