Jiufeng Mountain is located south of Nanping City, across Xixi River from the urban area. It is named after the nine overlapping peaks that tower over the surrounding peaks. The mountain boasts a tranquil environment and lush trees. It boasts scenic spots such as "Nine Peaks with a Bright Moon" and "Ape Cave in Autumn Breeze," two of Nanping's eight ancient scenic spots. It was designated a comprehensive park in 1978.
Thirteen pavilions and flower gardens have been built within the park, including Youxiang Garden, Tianqing Pavilion, Cuiyun Pavilion, Lingyun Pavilion, Lengfeng Pavilion, and Yude Spring. A zoo, children's playground, cultural and historical museum, and teahouse have also been established. To facilitate visitors' scenic viewing, a suspension bridge spanning the Minjiang River was built between Jiufeng Mountain and the city in 1984.
Jiufeng Mountain, with its strategic location and commanding heights, has always been a battleground for military strategists, leaving behind many moving revolutionary stories. In 1933, the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army laid siege to Nanping and attacked its reinforcements, and the 19th Route Army launched an uprising against Chiang Kai-shek in Fujian. Both battles involved fierce competition for the control of Jiufeng Mountain.

The environment here is beautiful, the air is fresh, and sunny and rainy days each have their own beauty.
