Arashiyama Nonomiya Shrine

Nonomiya Shrine is surrounded by lush forests. It is said that it is particularly effective for praying for a good match. This small shrine is very crowded, and many people come to worship in kimonos! It really has a Kyoto flavor.

There is an endless stream of tourists making pilgrimages to this place. I met an 80-something man outside the shrine and bought him a postcard he had drawn himself. I think the old man’s drawing talent is really amazing! He has a small stall outside Nonomiya Shrine. If you plan to go to Kyoto and Arashiyama, you can go and appreciate his works!
